We would suggest you install the latest version of the application. Please refer this help document Overview Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes to check the compatibility of the software with this OS version. It is an old and unsupported version of Acrobat.

As it stands most PDF files that you find will be using at least PDF standard 1.7. I personally prefer using old versions of Adobe Reader on my PC mostly because the UI is much better, and quick to load or render the PDF Documents.
